Sherwin C, Amiran was born June 30th, 1981 to Mohsen and Diana Amiran in Tehran, Iran. Allana Linne Burmeister arrived 4 days earlier to Larry Burmeister and Diane Robertson on June 26th, 1981. Although born just days, but worlds apart, fate would bring us together in the small town of Des Plaines, IL.
We met nearly 16 years ago in Ron Lavine's 6th grade advanced placement courses at Friendship Junior High. Staying along the same course track, we continued on in high school and became study partners and friends. (insert Allana and Sherwin's high school graduation photo).
Upon graduation, we went our separate ways sadly, with no intent of reconnecting; Sherwin off to University of Iowa to pursue a dream of rebuilding the space program by studying Physics and Astronomy and Allana down to Bradley University in Peoria, IL in hopes of one day being the editor in chief at the Chicago Tribune by pursuing a bachelors in Mass Communications. Oddly enough Sherwin, changed majors to Economics and Political Science his sophomore year, while at the very same time, Allana was leaning more to a career with an international scope and switched to a double major of International Business and Spanish.
Life continued on after college graduation with Sherwin joining the family business, moving back to Des Plaines and Allana coming back to the Chicago area to live with her mom in search of a new career.
Fate would have that in the heat of August, jobless, and in the era of high speed broadband internet, that Allana would have to connect to her mother's dialup internet through AOL, something she hadn't done since high school. As she connected, an old familiar friend popped up under her buddies section in chat. On that day, a friendship was rekindled with a plan to get together for “coffee”.
So, I guess you could say we met through the internet, though truly our history takes us farther back.
